NCETM School Development Lead Programme

Overview

This project aims to support mathematics leads whose role is to lead change in a school or group of schools other than their own. Successful completion of the programme and satisfactory completion of all tasks and related paperwork will result in the participant being accredited as an NCETM Accredited School Development Lead.

Who can take part?

The programme is for teachers leading change in a school or group of schools other than their own, and will benefit those who have previous experience of developing leadership capacity in schools/groups of schools or who are new to the role.

What is involved?

It will provide a regional support programme through a series of three days of workshops (face-to-face and online), practice development activities, and an online community. Participants undertake to plan, lead and evaluate a school development initiative for a school or group of schools and to record their planning, evaluation and reflection in an Accreditation Evidence Document. What is the cost?

The School Development Lead Programme is fully funded by the Maths Hubs Programme so is free to participating schools.

NCETM PD Lead Development and Accreditation Programme

Overview

This programme is designed for those who lead professional development for teachers of maths. Participants undertake to plan, lead and evaluate a professional development programme for a group of teachers during the course of the programme, and to record their planning, evaluation and reflection. Successful completion of the programme and satisfactory completion of all tasks and related paperwork will result in the participant being designated an NCETM Accredited PD Lead.

Who can take part?

The programme is for teachers of maths (all phases from Early Years to post-16) who have existing commitments and responsibility for designing, leading and evaluating maths teacher professional development, and the potential to develop further.

What is involved?

The programme involves the equivalent to three face-to-face days over the course of the year, completion of an Accreditation Evidence Document, and designing, leading, reviewing and refining a programme of support for maths teacher professional development. Beyond the core programme, participants will have the opportunity to pay to work with the University of Chester and gain an academic award (PG Cert) for completing an enhanced version of the programme.

Secondary Maths MAT Leads

Overview

This project offers focused support to those who lead mathematics across multiple schools within a MAT, to enable them to better understand and develop effective maths pedagogy approaches across those schools. It will also support participants to develop their role as a leader of system change, curriculum change, and teacher professional development.

Who can take part?

The project is for those who lead maths across multiple schools within a MAT, including at least one secondary school.

What is involved?

The programme involves three one-day national/regional workshops, online community collaboration, and participants carrying out and evaluating their own improvement initiatives, both in and between sessions.

What is the cost?

The Secondary Maths MAT Leads project is fully funded by the Maths Hubs Programme so is free to participating schools.
